The 2013 Columbus Arts Ball event will be held for the first time outside at the World Renowned Columbus Zoo on Saturday August 17th from 6:30pm to 11:00pm!

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is home to more than 10,000 animals representing over 575 species from around the globe. We are excited to have the opportunity to intertwine the atmosphere of the Columbus Zoo with our masquerade theme. Envisioning a lovely summer evening, dressing up in semi formal black and white attire, along with a colorful mask beneath the stars, while dancing to music from the 80′s and 90′s.

“Imagine dressing up in semi formal black and white attire and colorful mask and being able to see the stars while dancing to 80s and 90s music!”
– Amy Kapp,
Entertainment Director

The Columbus Arts Ball will be hosting this year’s Masquerade event for the Ronald McDonald House in the Water’s Edge Pavilion. This area is a spacious, beautiful area to the zoo which entails two indoor plaza pavilions, outdoor stage, and scenic, park-like setting on on the banks of the Scioto River.

Prices will remain at $28 online in advance and $30 at the door with our wonderful partnership from the Columbus Zoo. No additional cost is needed to get into the Zoo for this amazing event! For any additional questions please send all email inquiries to RHartley@ColumbusArtsBall.com.

Ronald McDonald House

One of Columbus, Ohio’s largest masquerade events has kicked off another year of planning for its 2013 Columbus Arts Ball! This is an incredible event, cloaked in in black and white semi-formal attire and masks, both live and DJ music, amazing artwork, a silent auction and other great entertainment all in a one night event that spotlights an amazing cause in Central Ohio!

Founder, Ryan Hartley stated, “I am excited for this year’s planning as we change our organization into more board driven, bringing refreshing new ideas and concepts to take our event to the next level. I have challenged everyone on our board to find ways to bring the ‘WOW’ facture into every piece of the event.” (See Our Board)

The board has already been preplanning before the kick-off meeting with all the volunteers to launch the event for 2013. Some of the exciting conversations that have been leaked thus far are meetings with Columbus Fashion Week (CMH) to have them head up the fashion show segment of the event. “We learned a lot from the 2012 event and fashion show and have considered the comments from patron surveys received and tailoring the fashion show into a shorter and more entertaining display. The goal is for CMH to do a pre-show on what you can see at their event in October 2013. It will be exciting and refreshing,” said Amy Kapp the Entertainment Director.

The 2013 cause selection has been the toughest piece to the event thus far since there are so many amazing causes in Central, Ohio that could really use some attention by the community. As for the 2013 cause the Columbus Arts Ball has selected the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio as its charity. “The Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio is such an amazing organization here in Columbus and we feel that the Columbus Arts Ball can help bring awareness to community about them through our event”, said Julie Davidson. You can learn more about our cause by going to the cause selection of our site (2013 Cause).

If you are interested in being a volunteer in planning the 2013 event please email Ryan Hartley at RHartley@ColumbusArtsBall.com . The Columbus Arts Ball could use your help on making this a bigger and better event.
